Supplemental to the July Missouri and Kansas Telephone directory issue No 4 dated October 1 1909 lists new subscribers across multiple addresses and professions including physicians lawyers professors and shopkeepers with locations in Missouri Kansas and neighboring states. The roster shows names with residences and business notes such as Main numbers and street addresses plus organizational references and ads.
Real estate ad fragment describes homes near a university campus with lots priced around 100 dollars, down payment of five dollars, and monthly payments with six percent interest. Listings include rental offers, owner contacts, and a survey noting The University Place Annex plat recorded in Douglas county records. Various resident and business names appear with street addresses and phone numbers.
An advertisement argues that pure red blood fights disease and that Dr Williams Pink Pills build up blood to prevent illness. It cites Mrs J W Tennyson of Uniontown Kansas as a twenty year rheumatism sufferer who improved after using the pills, claiming no opiates were needed and health was restored. The ad states the pills cost $2.50 and come from Schenectady New York.

An advertisement extols Devoe Lead and Oil Paint claiming less paint and labor needed than lead and oil rivals. It lists pure ingredients and urges careful use, promising high satisfaction with Devoe. Also includes unrelated local business notices for law abstracts, a studio, and music teachers.
The 1909 Lawrence City Council approves a resolution to grade curb and pave Hancock street between Delaware and New Jersey with brick two-course pavement sand foundation and limestone curb, to be published daily for five days. An additional item approves paving an alley west of Tennessee Street between Berkley and Warren, using brick with concrete base and grout filler, with notices by City Clerk F D Brooks.
