Mrs. Ora Thompson, grandmother of the incubator baby, sues Stella Barclay Thomas McAnany and Eugene Hayes for 10000 damages in district court at Sedan Kansas claiming they tried to kidnap the child. Barclay and McAnany were fined 50 for disturbing the peace in nearby Elgin. The baby and mother disappeared after the incident, believed to be in Indian Territory.
Grace Collins has led a six year drive to win a pardon for her brother John Collins, jailed for life for the murder of their father at the state penitentiary. An attempt to assassinate former Sheriff Harvey K. Brown in Baker City Oregon occurred last night with a dynamite bomb. Brown is in critical condition. a leg and an arm are severely injured and there are internal injuries. The attack mirrors a prior deadly incident in Idaho. Brown was returning home when the blast shattered windows as he opened the gate and authorities seek a motive.

August Bondi, a prominent Salina resident known for fighting with Jobo Brown and aiding Kossuth, died suddenly in St Louis while visiting. Born July 21 1833 in Vienna, he came to America in 1848 and Kansas in 1855. A Democrat, he served as postmaster under Grover Cleveland and was a 33d degree Mason and Elk. He had nine children including daughter Mrs Sigmund Steiffle of Salina.
