Barton on the Sauxe Sept 30 a terrible explosion at the Ditman powder works Bay Chester on the Harlem River branch of the New York and New Haven railroad instantly killed four men Ernest Draien John Rusch Max Shafbolt and Mr Reinhart. Foreman Max Cruger says two men shot at squirrels caused the blast. Debris scattered up to 600 feet, windows shattered across Barton and Bay Chester. Coroner to review remains.
