Santee’s rise from hardship to record breaking runner
Santee refused to wallow in abuse, studying his father’s background to understand him. He pursued running, breaking the four minute mile dream amid era rivals Bannister Landy and Up-and-coming stars, starring for Kansas with wide range events and Olympic pursuit. His confidence, grit, and rivalries defined a remarkable athletic life.
