KC police said a pre dawn chemical explosion at a highway site killed six firefighters and shattered windows ten miles away. Detectives questioned four people to evaluate alibis as arson is suspected. A second blast occurred 40 minutes later at a trailer storing 15 000 pounds of ammonium nitrate.
