Washington AP November 30 Vice President Curtis announced he would not run for United States Senator from Kansas in 1932 and would accept renomination as vice president if offered. He said he would not be a Senate candidate but would back Hoover if nominated for vice president in 1932. Curtis's decision drew mixed political reactions and was welcomed by some Republicans as maintaining strong leadership in the Senate. He spoke after returning from Chicago and noted his statement echoed a conservative, optimistic view of GOP prospects. Born death in Kansas also noted: Bert Born, 30, former Pittsburg Teachers College tackle, died yesterday in Neodesha hospital. Altoona high school cancelled remaining games.

Tragedy at Winchester Crossings Claims Swoyer Life
