A lone robber robbed the Hepler bank in Crawford county at 11 a.m. and the Stark state bank in Stark, Neosho county at about 11:45 a.m. About 700 to 800 dollars were reported taken from Hepler with no immediate Stark total. The suspect, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 6 inches, 130 to 140 pounds, dark, wore glasses and a blue green suit with red stripes, fleeing in a green blue Oldsmobile with a damaged right front fender. Sheriff Crispell said a man matching the description was detained in Labette county, but spoke little and had money.
