Topeka Nov 28 AP Governor Clyde Reed submitted appropriations totaling 18 368 004 for 1932 33 to the 1931 biennial session. The plan lowers current biennium totals by 1 448 043 and comes with no salary increases. Mrs Ida Jackson 70 of Topeka was taken to Memorial hospital with a fracture after cars driven by her daughter Mrs Avis Rickel Hoyt Kan and W D Martin of Illinois collided on the Nine Creek bridge near Reno. Will Hays former postmaster general and moviedom czar wed yesterday to Mrs Jessie Herron Statesman at the bride’s Bethesda Maryland home. The ceremony was quiet with only relatives present. Mrs Herron, widow of a former American minister to Seine, is daughter of Mrs William Parke Herron of Crawfordsville Indiana. Her late husband James F Statesman was an Indiana native who died in 1919.
W. J. Mitchell of Topeka was detained by county officers for investigation after selling thirty one chickens at Greed feed store and failing to explain their source. Deputy Huston Turner questioned Mitchell and checked his records at Topeka, finding no chickens at his home on Indiana Avenue. No thefts were reported in the area recently.
