Sewer bills often surpass water for low users in city
City finance director Ed Mullins explains residential water bills can be higher or lower than sewer bills depending on minimum charges. A 6000 gallon use costs 17.40 for water and 17.16 for sewer, while low-volume users may incur higher sewer dues due to a $8.20 monthly minimum versus $5.20 for water. The city also plans a 40 million wastewater plant expansion to meet growth and regulations. In Ludlam Park, swings were removed for safety and new ones are expected to be installed next week.
