Nov 27 Kansas City reports four armed men led by Oscar Bridges attempted to rob a street car bound for Independence. Bridges and three other men clashed with the motorman and conductor. the bandits fled as passengers aided in the struggle. Bridges yielded identities later. several suspects linked to recent Illinois and Missouri depredations. Santa Fe may abandon Leavenworth Topeka line
President E P Ripley of the Santa Fe said the Leavenworth and Topeka & Southwestern branch probably will be abandoned as the receiver McClellen cannot operate it much longer without bondholder support.
