KU presents 92nd annual Holiday Vespers with KU Choirs and KU Symphony at Carlsen Center in Overland Park on Dec 2 and Lied Center in Lawrence on Dec 4. Free admission with tickets required for the Johnson County show. tickets $13 adults and $11 for seniors students. online and phone reservations available. Wildlife Fence Planned for Lawrence Airport
Public works chief Chuck Soules says a wildlife perimeter fence is needed to reduce animal runways hazards at Lawrence Municipal Airport amid a potential federal grant. The project would cost about 1.3 million dollars, with 90 percent funded by a federal grant if approved, and the city paying roughly 130 thousand dollars. The fence would be chain link about 10 feet high surrounding airport operations.
