Topeka November 26 E T Fairchild state superintendent of public instruction reports the Barnes high school law passed in 1905 is functioning well across Kansas. Since its start, county high schools have more than tripled to sixty six, from twenty two under the old law. The law allows a county levy up to three mills to support high schools and for students to attend any county high school receiving county funds. Enrolment has risen and interest in advanced education increased, with several counties likely to seek elections to raise levies under the Barnes law.
