First Known Rabies Survivor After Experimental Therapy
A 15 year old girl, Joanna Giese, survived rabies after an experimental treatment by inducing coma and using a drug combination. Dr Rodney Willoughby of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Wauwatosa said no precedent existed even in animals and the regimen could be replicated in other cases if successful.
