Two KU girls killed in highway 50N crash near Canton
Two University of Kansas sophomores Ger aldine Rae Cuddy and Wilma Frederika Ekblad died after a wreck on highway 50N near Canton. Miss Elizabeth Stenzel, driver of the 1949 Oldsmobile, suffered a fractured wrist. Raymond Brewer escaped injury. The crash occurred as both cars skidded on a wet muddy road. Cuddy died at McPherson hospital. Ekblad was killed instantly. Both families are Hoisington residents. Stenzel, a student at Corbin Hall, and other occupants escaped serious harm. Funeral plans have not yet been announced.
