Turkeys at Prairie Park Teach Kids About Food Origins
Dara Wilson, Prairie Park Nature Center naturalist, introduces two Bourbon Red turkeys named Tom and Jenny to preschoolers in an annual Turkey Time event. She says children should learn where meat comes from, noting the birds are kept as pets and will not be used for Thanksgiving.
