Push-to-connect pipe fittings simplify plumbing work
New water line installations are quick with push-to-connect brass fittings. They connect copper CPVC PEX and polybutylene tubing, with brands Sharkbite and Tectite leading the market. For CPVC PEX or hard copper avoid soft or chrome-plated copper. For PB tubing in mobile homes, use fittings labeled PB with a gray collar to transition to copper.
Fix It Chick PEX and CPVC Tubing Fittings Guide
Step by step tips for Push to Connect PEX CPVC and copper fittings. Sharkbite liners may stay in place per code. Cut tubing with proper tools and ensure square burr-free ends. Mark insert depth and push until depth line aligns with fitting collar. Email Fix-It Chick with questions to Linda Cottin.
