A Trust for America’s Health study finds Kansas youth overdose deaths for ages 12 to 25 rose to 5.9 per 100 000 in 12 years while the national rate stands at 7.3 per 100 000. The Wichita Eagle notes Kansas’ rate has roughly quadrupled, with Wyoming the only state higher. The report covers both prescription and illicit drugs.
