Depot restoration begins preserves Lawrence landmark
After seven years of planning a 102 year old Union Pacific depot on North Second Street starts exterior restoration and interior adaptation. Project costs total about 455000 with initial 104000 funded by bonds and a 38000 grant. The depot will host a United Way offices and a community meeting room with gardens and a farmer's market planned later.

Snowfall Short of Forecast Pushes Football Championship Ahead
