Prohibition Stance Prominent in Kansas City Visit

Sen. Sepsior Plumb, fresh from Emporia, defended Kansas policy on prohibition and denied a resubmission fight. SLAIN BY A WOMAN PROMINENT NY BUSINESS MAN MURDERED

New York, Nov 22. Stephen L. Pettus was shot and killed in front of 10 Fulton street Brooklyn by Hannah Southworth a 30 year old widow. She declared the crime and testified Pettus betrayed and ruined her and her family. Five bullets hit Pettus four in back one in neck. Southworth was calm throughout arrest coroner hearing and detention. The case ties to a prior assault fraud suit and a belief Pettus offered no support after promising help. Pettus was 42, of 49 Eighth Avenue Brooklyn. Southworth’s Louisville origin. the shooting followed a dispute over alleged past abuses and a slander suit.
