A K U student, A A Perkins of 1510 Massachusetts, suffered a head injury and was taken to Watkins hospital after one of three crashes within 15 minutes around 5 pm. Other collisions involved Ralph Henley and Howard Stringham, both students, at Eleventh and Indiana, with a robinie George car damaged. A separate crash at Nineteenth and Barker involved Mrs. Rankin and Charley Hiatt, while Claude Shriver halted for children on Seventh and Ben Williams struck Shriver’s rear.

Jones former Johnson County probate judge and ex state representative was found guilty of negligent homicide in the death of Dorothy Kellogg 31 a secretary. The jury deliberated five hours and returned a verdict of negligent homicide the lightest possible penalty carries up to one year in jail and or a 300 dollar fine sentencing date not yet set. Kellogg died after Jones car left a country road and ditched near Lenexa after a January 20 incident.
