Hawker Beechcraft Says Air Force Excludes AT-6 Bid
Hawker Beechcraft Corp says the Air Force barred its Beechcraft AT-6 from the Light Air Support competition worth nearly 1 billion dollars for Afghanistan and U.S. forces. The company called the decision confounding and troubled and seeks an explanation while noting $100 million invested and 1,400 jobs tied to the AT-6 and T-6 programs across 20 states, including 800 in Wichita. Representative Mike Pompeo criticized the move, urging Pentagon answers and stressing the contract’s impact on national security and Wichita jobs.
