Six Killed at Gem Kan Crossing in Truck Crash
Six people died and one was injured when a Rock Island freight train hit a motor truck at a grade crossing in Gem Kansas yesterday. The victims include Otto Borland and his wife from Bloomington Indiana and their two daughters, plus Mrs W D Ayres and her three year old daughter Beulah May. Five died instantly. Ida Borland and Mrs Ayres were hospitalized at Goodland, where Beulah May died. The Borland family had arrived to visit the Ayres. Borland was Ayres sister. The Ayres family moved to Gem from Oklahoma Tahoma.
