Kendall re signs with Pirates in bold six year deal
Pirates catcher Jason Kendall signed a 60 million dollar six year contract, the richest in club history, citing the chance to win now over money or ballpark. He likens Pittsburgh’s plans to the Cleveland Indians as the Pirates pursue Kris Benson and bullpen fixes ahead of PNC Park opening while Giles and Young remain under long term deals. Kendall projects a competitive roster and believes manager Lloyd McClendon will attract others to Pittsburgh.
