Secretary Good remained critically ill after an appendectomy at Walter Reed Hospital. The operation revealed a gangrenous appendix with a low pelvic position, but he initially rallied. General blood poisoning later dimmed hope as Mrs Good and their two sons waited at the hospital and the White House was kept informed.
The civil docket for the November term of the Doulas county district court reopened this morning. The damage suit is Ray K. Price versus Dolson Robinson Construction Company. Price seeks damages for a blast near Pleasant Grove, about two miles south, claiming property harm and related losses.
London reports the death of the Father of the House of Commons. The Britain figure, praised in his final moments, was blessed by the priest and received best wishes from the King. Official details and tributes are expected forthcoming.
Cal Ward, presiding officer, will attend the national convention opening tomorrow and closing November 22. Ward is the state delegate. Grain and livestock markets will be principal topics of discussion with Alexander and H H Leege as chairmen.

Pair of rough dressed men claiming to be the Ottawa kidnapers forced Dr. L. V. Dawson to drive to Wellsville to reload gasoline after stopping him seven miles northeast of Ottawa and later released him. They displayed four revolvers and used one to test a telephone line before fleeing. The doctor, uninjured, was answering a sick call when seized.
Tulsa November 28 AP The Tulsa World reports mid-Continental men foresee release of Harry S Sinclair from Washington DC jail as the vehicle to merge Sinclair companies with Prairie Oil and Gas. Prairie Petroleum would be a holding unit with Standard Oil of Indiana reducing its 50 percent Sinclair stake. Prairie would absorb Sinclair Oil and Gas and related lines as wind-up proceeds through 1930.
Nineteen people died and more than fifty were wounded as Pascual Ortiz Rubio won the Mexican presidency in a nationwide election. Observers reported violence at voting booths, with accusations of intimidation by Ortiz Rubio supporters and countercharges from Vasconcelistas. Officials called the day comparatively quiet, with cavalry deployed to quell disturbances and prevent further clashes in major cities including Mexico City near the national palace.
International Harvester Company presents a two day program in Eudora Kansas on December 2 and 3 at the high school. Ed Melville announces a short course for town and farm residents with lectures on education dairying soils home grounds beautification and 4 H club work alongside music and moving pictures. County prosecutor James R. Page announced plans to seek maximum sentences of 25 years for Everett Lewis and Grady Goodwin for two hit and run crashes Saturday night that injured seven. Each man faces three charges including leaving the scene, driving while intoxicated, and culpable removal of responsibility.
Washington Congressman Laguardia introduces a bill to exempt newspapermen from testifying about confidential information in federal court and before Congress or its committees. A similar measure has been proposed in the Senate by Senator Capper.

Mr. and Mrs. Will H. Holaday of 1503 Kentucky street have returned from Wichita after the death of Mrs. Margaret A. Pawan, mother of Mrs. Holaday. Funeral services were held in Wichita and the body was sent to Ontario, California for interment. Mrs. Duncan was past 92 and had attended a Lawrence reunion in October with relatives from California and Wichita.
Secretary Mellon announced plans to submit to Congress a proposal to accelerate the 200 million dollar government building program nationwide. The aim is to permit completion of essential work and speed construction projects across the country.

A 4 H program and box supper will be held next Saturday night at the No 6 schoolhouse at the end of West Twenty third street. Clubs from over Douglas county will participate. Funds will cover boys and girls camps, the roundup, prizes, and new club work. Ira Kirk, 36, who confessed to killing Clara Boeke, admits four marriages in fifteen years with only one legal separation. Records show marriages to Ethel Cherry in 1915, Ethel Stoneman in 1924, Ethel Stewart in 1925, and Marie Lee in 1929, all followed by rapid desertions or annulments. A blaze at the University of California Hospital in San Francisco started by an explosion in the X ray room. Over 100 patients were moved to safety with no serious injuries reported. A telephonist, Miss Juanita Costenborder, was injured during evacuation. Fire crews controlled the fire after multiple alarms.
Farm Board will not revise its lead policy on wheat despite market price drops. Chairman Legge said the policy prevents dumping and is proving effective. He noted growers in Chicago and the wheat belt are satisfied with the current approach and see no cause for alarm amid stock market declines.

Coffeyville Kansas November 1804 jurors questioned to form panel in the case of Milier Cales 28 a farmer marine charged with the first degree murder of Marguerite Whites 22 his companion. Witnesses multiple and 100 aided the case with tense interest as evidence opens. Cales was arrested in Bartlesville after fleeing and claiming self defense. legal counsel and county officials pressed the prosecution and defense teams as proceedings advance.
A speeding driver who fled struck Ernest Siewelaseh, 52, on a streetcar track in Junction City Wan on Saturday night. He died at a hospital from the injuries. Siewelaseh leaves a widow and two grown children. The driver’s identity is unknown. Also noted is KE Lindley of the University of Kansas leaving for Chicago for the inauguration of Dr Robert M Hutchings at the University of Chicago. Marion Ind reports Andrew Legos, 35, died from bomb injuries tied to a car starter. Legos had been injured weeks earlier and was secretary for the local molders union.
