Centennial virtual school to move into district owned building
The district plans to relocate the virtual school to Centennial in a district owned building to free space at headquarters. Utilities costs drop from about 26,000 when Centennial was a school to 9,000 to 13,000 annually, with moving costs of 1,000 to 3,000. The program is funded by a 318,000 federal grant and will run kindergarten through eighth grade with support from parents and local districts.

Transsexual marriage license trial begins in Leavenworth
Leavenworth County Atty. Frank Kohl argued that Kansas law defines marriage as between a man and a woman and that Gast’s birth certificate lists her as male.
