On November 16 1864 Sherman began the March to the Sea during the Civil War. In 1959 The Sound of Music opened on Broadway. In 1966 Dr Samuel Sheppard was acquitted in his second trial for the murder of his pregnant wife Marilyn in 1954. In 1973 Skylab Three launched from Cape Canaveral on an 84 day mission. In 1982 NFL players reached a deal after 57 days on strike.
