KU Little Symphony Opens Season With Beethoven Milhaud Copland
The Little Symphony of Kansas University conducted by Dean Thomas Gorton gave its first concert of the season in Swarthout Recital Hall. Soloists John Perry and George Frock, both faculty, performed Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor and Milhaud Concerto pour Batterie et Petit Orchestra. Copland Appalachian Spring closed the program with rhythmic vitality and folk-like simplicity as the orchestra maintained accuracy and balance.
