An overnight wreck at Pine north of An Unnucky Number Indiana injured nine passengers when the Wabash Express train No. 13 derailed. The engine and baggage and smoking car overturned. three other cars also derailed. Ten passengers, all from the eastern states, were affected.

In Topeka a Swedish mother with two babies faced eviction after her husband failed to pay a $9 court costs fee. Governor Hoch investigated, contacted the Provident Association, and arranged shelter for the mother and children until further help can be arranged.
Dr. F C Chamberlain from Colorado Springs is in town proposing a water works system funded by selling at most one hundred dollars of stock per investor. He plans to source water from a local supply and pump it by the city's plant, promising limited control to himself while Baldwin would gain lower insurance costs and improved lawn health. his son attends the university and the family expects to move early next year.
Sunday at the Y M C A in Kansas City the Institutional church superintendent Charles W. Moore will speak at 3 o clock to the men group. Mrs Blanche Lyons will sing The Lord is My Shepherd. A Bible discussion class follows led by Dr J Naismith.
A natural gas explosion at Albert Gulend's 703 Cherokee Street wrecked the building and injured Albert Gulend Timothy Fitzgerald and James Parsons. None fatally hurt. Alby J W Coleman and others were present as the Haskell Indians attended the game at the high school this afternoon. John Thomas was acquitted on assault charges in a separate morning trial.
The KU Democratic Club elected Edward L Haney Paola as president and E H Coughlin Kigerton as vice president, W W McConles Lincoln secretary, W L Pepperell Concordia treasurer, and Robt E Coughlin Miami County as delegate to a Topeka banquet February 23 with W J Bryan as principal speaker. A resolution endorses Bryan as a leading Democratic figure for 1905.
After the Quit Business Sale at Lecompton Mercantile Saturday the stock and business were sold to Suppe and Co. E R Suppe, head of the new firm from Parsons Kansas, arrives with wife and daughter and stays at the Windsor. The Sun wishes the firm success as longtime friends regret the retiring firm’s departure. Mr Kimmel will continue the store at Big Springs.
The Lawrence banks kept calm and continued cashing checks despite the money panic on Wall Street. Local reports say these banks have ample cash on hand now, more than before the market collapse.
St Paul Nov 16 The United States circuit court judges in the eighth district appointed Harry L Finley of Topeka Kansas as clerk of the United States circuit court for the western district of Oklahoma.
A Taiboku dispatch reports that two bands of Aigu tribe outlaws attacked government officers on Formosa Island killing ten. The rebels were dispersed with significant casualties. A wry closing line notes wives insisting on neckties may explain facial whiskers.
A morning blaze swept through Bay St. Louis driven by a Gulf wind. Damage is estimated at 200000 dollars with St. Joseph's convent totally destroyed. The text also promotes local confections and candy displays.

A window fall of lamp globes at Raymond's Drug Store priced 15¢, two for 25¢. Miss Elizabeth Wagstaff will teach dancing at C C F Hall beginning Nov 16 on Saturday afternoons.
