Terrible cigar box factory explosion injures many

A boiler in Henry H. Slip & Co cigar box factory at Randolph street exploded tearing the rear wall, starting a blaze that destroyed two upper floors and sheds. Dozens were injured, one girl missing, Carrie Bruger aged 13, with two hours later Carrie Brumer found dead under timbers. Fire loss estimated at 17000 dollars and insured.

Dantardly Deed Arrest in Portsmouth

Daniel Crowley aged 60 was arrested in Portsmouth New Hampshire on November 11 charged with assault with intent to kill. He allegedly beat his wife an elderly woman poured kerosene on her clothing and set it on fire and she was badly burned and may die. He denies setting her afire claiming the blaze was accidental.

W B Shat tuck, general passenger agent of the Ohio and Mississippi, declined the commission as South Western passenger association official. Kansas City reports a light snow and minor damages to the street railroad line with fenders added after a $8,500 verdict, bringing total damages to $12,000 in two days. Oldest World Newspaper From Pekin Now Daily in Three Editions
