Headquarters Counseling Center faces funding loss from KU
Headquarters Counseling Center in Lawrence loses annual $36,000 from KU Student Senate and about $26,000 United Way funding, risking operations with a $200,000 Douglas County budget. Director Marcia Epstein questions how long the center can continue. KU student fees had funded four Lawrence agencies since 1972, including GaDuGi SafeCenter, Douglas County AIDS Project and Willow Domestic Violence Center.
