McCollum Hall Demolition Setup Ahead of November 25 Run
Crews prepare the largest Daisy Hill residence hall for demolition with a 9 am start on November 25. The building, vacated by 900 students last spring, shows extensive damage and debris as pre-demolition work continues. Asbestos removal is complete and metals are being recycled while soft materials are hauled away. Portraits of Elmer and Burton McCollum were relocated. KU officials confirm ongoing disposal of wood, drywall, and ceiling tiles.

KU development proposals worry legislative panel
Kansas lawmakers pressed KU officials Monday on financing plans for 350 million dollars in new science and engineering facilities. The private developer and public private partnership would fund construction with bonds, raising concerns the state could be on the hook if there is a default. KU chief financial officer Theresa Gordzica stated the P-3 model is sound and that the state would not bear bond payments or post‑construction maintenance costs after bonds are repaid.
