Edwards seizes third in standings as Roush eyes next year
Edwards won the Dickies 500 at Texas Motor Speedway and moved to third in the Chase for the Nextel Cup behind Tony Stewart and Jimmie Johnson. Jack Roush cautioned that Stewart or Johnson may clinch, potentially leaving Edwards and teammates Biffle Martin and Kenseth out of title contention. Edwards, 26, continues learning the Cup series under crew chief Bob Osborne as Roush builds toward future championships.
