Sheriff Loren Anderson says the move reflects clear voter support and will move quickly to hire an architect and begin design work south of the JLE Center. County officials plan renovations to the existing space for county or court offices.
Iraq formally recognized Kuwait and its new borders, dropping the 1990 invasion claim. The move, praised by the White House as a first step, awaits further action by Saddam Hussein before sanctions are lifted. The National Assembly backed sovereignty and borders as per UN demarcation.
