A passenger train and a freight train on the Columbus and Hocking Valley line collided twelve miles north of Bradner near Terrfork. Four men were killed instantly including the passenger train engineer Andrew Jones and his fireman, with another engineer W. S. Keelin also killed. The express was running without orders and the freight failed to take a side track as instructed. The crash left the passenger train wrecked and several cars derailed while a fireman survived with injuries.
