Supreme Court Will Study Case
TOPEKA AP An appeal by Lowell Lee Andrews a former University of Kansas student from Walcott Kas who is under sentence to die for killing his parents and sister was taken under advisement today by the Kansas Supreme Court. Andrews was convicted in Wyandotte County District Court and sentenced to hang for the killings which occurred at the family home. Attorneys arguing in Andrews behalf contended he should have been adjudged insane. A decision on the appeal normally would be expected next month. If the death sentence is affirmed at that time it would allow Andrews to appeal to Gov George Docking for commutation to life imprisonment. Docking has commuted one death sentence and indicated opposition to capital punishment.
