Russell Springs Kansas held on to the Logan county seat with a margin of 1,088 to 1,087 defeating a move to transfer offices to Oakley. The center of population favored Oakley but no majority reached the required 55 percent. Two Russell Springs residents supported moving while 58 Oakley voters opposed keeping the courthouse locally.
