KU student finds success in wetlands mitigation
KU graduate student Alexandra Fraser presented that the 17 acre Santa Fe Wetland built as mitigation for the Baker-Haskell Wetlands destruction shows vegetation growth and species flux. The site, created in 1994 on an old soybean field, hosts wildlife tracks and insects, yet Fraser cautions it cannot match a natural wetland and notes future change.
