Prominent Kentuckian attacked in Vaxcenene home

At Vaxcenene Kentucky yesterday evening Col Thomas Hoch Jer, a railroad contractor, was assaulted by a large bearded man who called himself Mallory. He struck the colonel with a bottle of vitriol, badly injuring his head and burning his eyes. The assailant then attacked Mrs Minnie Evans who followed.

Insane Man Kills Wife and Child in Worcester

Edward Hamilton a 28 year employee at Worcester County Institution for Savings shot and killed his wife and young daughter at his William Street home. He wounded his infant son then shot himself. Hamilton died later. the boy’s prognosis is guarded. Hamilton had suffered illness and neuralgia and had lived on opiates, with signs of insanity developing.

Phillips McGrade wedding at Elm Street home

Mayne Eleanor McGrade, daughter of Frank and Mrs McGrade, married Charles W Phillips of the city at 8:30 pm under a floral arch. Rev McDowell presided.
