Birthday voters in Douglas County cast first ballots on 18th birthday
Two Douglas County teens Baylee Schmeck and Ryan Giblin vote for the first time on their 18th birthday. They registered earlier, learned to vote in school, and plan to pursue college while studying candidates. Schmeck backs Democratic registration. Giblin supports Republican Sen John McCain after researching issues. Both urge broader youth participation and early civic engagement.
