Brownback Tax Cuts Loom Over Kansas Governor Race
In Manhattan and Pittsburg campaigns, Republican Gov. Sam Brownback and Democratic challenger Paul Davis framed the race around Brownback's tax cuts. Davis argued the policy worsened a looming budget shortfall, citing October tax shortfalls and a projected $260 million gap by mid-2016. Brownback defended growth under his 2011-2013 cuts, highlighting private sector job gains and GDP growth while acknowledging budget challenges.

Orman calls Roberts campaign attack a distortion
Independent Senate candidate Greg Orman rejects a Republican charge that he called former senator Bob Dole a clown. He says the remark referred to a Washington establishment stereotype and he is outraged by the distortion as Pat Roberts campaigns with Christie Pence and Dole. Dole is praised by Orman as a bipartisanship example.
