Allen Ray Phelps a 17 year old resident signed a confession admitting stealing about 406 dollars from the Co-Op Elevator near East 19th Street and the Santa Fe Shops. Sheriff Billy Hodson said the break in occurred Saturday evening and about 760 dollars was taken in two card boxes. Phelps worked at the Co-Op earlier this year and admitted entering the safe with Co-Op tools. the job took about 30 minutes and the burglary was not discovered until Sunday. Formal charges of breaking and entering were to be filed in County Court.
