Washington Nov 1 The War Department rejects the request of the First Colorado Infantry to return from Manila to the United States. Joliet November 1 The threatened strike of galvanizers at the American Steel and Wire company involving 5000 workers is off. A reduction due to take place today was blocked as workers say Governor Tanner would protect them by deploying state troops to keep out imported labor and set a precedent against further importation of labor at Ohio and Indiana plants.
