Law Enforcement Torch Run Heads to Ottawa Start
For the 33rd time local law enforcement will carry a torch from Lawrence to Ottawa to mark the Special Olympics. The run gathers runners from agencies and Special Olympic athletes to carry the torch to Wichita for the summer games. Douglas County Sheriff's Office Lawrence Police Department and Baldwin City Police Department will run 22 miles along Highway 59 starting at 3430 South Iowa Street in Lawrence at 9 am June 3. The Special Olympics games run June 6-8.
