A $60,000 eternal light memorial at Gettysburg will rise as a bronze urn burns a perpetual flame in memory of Civil War soldiers. President Roosevelt will dedicate it July 3 amid the 75th anniversary observances with blue and gray veterans present. The flame, fed by natural gas, will cost about $1,000 yearly to keep alight and be visible for 20 miles.
