Clear Springs memoir revisits Mason family roots in Kentucky
Bobbie Ann Mason writes Clear Springs a memoir reflecting on her life and her ancestors in Mayfield Kentucky. The piece traces her rootward pull from the North back to a soil and family shaped by farming and strict tradition, contrasting generations and choices. The author recalls her mother Christy Mason a resourceful figure who valued time and work while Mason pursued writing and independence.
