At the May 3 Clinton Eagles 4 H Club meeting roll call asked for favorite summer sport. Hannah Norman, Levi Oxford, and Brad Harrell gave show and share topics on cats goats and turkey feathers. Next meeting is June 7 at Hannah Norman home. Sunny Valley Beu met May 13 at Sunnyside School with pest control lesson by Judy Shultz. Doris Nottingham celebrated 50 years of service. A potluck supper is set for next Saturday at Sunnyside School with guttering planned by Sarcoxie Township Board. attendees should bring a covered dish and table service.

Lt Gen Jerry Rutherford, retired, spoke at the Jayhawk chapter meeting about Desert Shield logistics and Desert Storm tactical maneuvers that aided U S victory. Rutherford, from Joplin Missouri, was ROTC commissioned at Pittsburg State University and is a Naval Command and Staff College and Army War College graduate. The Lawrence Action Civitan Club will hold an informational session at Caldwell Banker McGrew Real Estate at 15th and Kasold, with meetings at noon on the first Tuesday and 5 30 p m on the third Tuesday each month.
