Leavenworth Kan May 29 Tom Pendergast once Kansas City political czar arrived at Leavenworth federal penitentiary for a 15 month sentence for income tax evasion on 443 550 in 1935 and 1938. He joined by son T J Pendergast Jr and nephew James as he entered quarantine then wore a blue uniform and received his first prison meal. His aide R Emmet O Malley also faces a year and a day for tax evasion. Twenty one members of his Democratic machine are serving sentences at Leavenworth for 1936 election frauds.
