Four Brooklyn Killers Die In Sing Sing Chair
In Ossining New York four young Brooklyn criminals were executed in Sing Sing prison. Charles Kropowitz 22 George Rosenberg 22 Frank Russo 23 and Vincent de Martino 27 died in the electric chair after being convicted of killing Thomas Gaughan in a Brooklyn cafe during a 1934 robbery. Rosenberg paused to shake hands and wished luck to the guards and others. He said he hoped his sacrifice would help others profit by his act. The four men faced the chair in sequence with brief personal farewells.

Manhattan man killed in car crash near Wamego
Emerson Gorton 26 of Manhattan died in a hospital from injuries after a crash on a bridge six miles east of Wamego on U S Highway 40. James Eaton suffered head injuries, Raymond Kerns had minor injuries. Gorton and Eaton were employed by a firm making home electric power plants. Parker of Kansas City drove the truck and was uninjured. Gorton’s parents were at his bedside.
