Wardrobe flap at Super Bowl fails to win $5,000 ruling
A Farmington lawyer sued CBS owner Viacom in small-claims court claiming false advertising over Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction during the February 1 Super Bowl halftime show. Judge rejected the $5,000 demand, finding no basis for financial compensation. The suit argued the event was marketed as family oriented but featured explicit lyrics and stage acts. The claimant also cited Kid Rock’s use of the American flag as a poncho as desecration.
