Gang film trends shift from gangland to romance and mystery
Hollywood reports a waning appetite for gangster pictures led by films like Little Caesar and The Public Enemy. Studios pivot to romance and mystery, with hits like The Public Enemy still doing well in New York, while teen and kid pictures and thrillers rise. Censorship influences vary, but tastes drive the changing cycles.
